SBIRT Training: The University Counseling Center [Faculty/Staff Only]

Event Time: 1/9/2017 8:30:00 AM   Location: President's Conference Room

Summary

The Faith & Spirituality Integrated SBIRT Network has partnered with Azusa Pacific University's University Counseling Center (UCC) and Student Health Center to promote the practice of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) at Azusa Pacific University. This initiative aims to implement a system for addressing the use of alcohol and drugs among students before it becomes a more serious health issue. On January 9th, faculty and staff from the UCC and Student Health Center received 4-hours of SBIRT Training and a Certificate of Completion indicating that they fulfilled the 4-hour SBIRT training requirement established by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) and the state of California. This training included an in-depth look at each of three steps involved in SBIRT practice and included time for SBIRT role play. Below, we have included the original training flyer and pictures of the SBIRT role play exercise.

Start Time: 1/9/2017 8:30:00 AM
